Ethics and the Theater will present: Look Back in Anger by John Osborne
It is the 1950s, in the British Midlands. Jimmy Porter, working class, intelligent, but unable to climb to the rung above, vents his frustration in bitter, biting, and blackly humorous rants against bourgeois hypocrisy and, particularly, his wife, Allison, and her upper-middle-class family. When Allison’s actress friend Helena comes to visit, frayed nerves snap and simmering emotions boil over with surprising consequences.
Come at 6:30 pm for a reception and after the reading participate in a discussion of the ethical issues of the play led by Betsy Ungar.
