Enjoy the sights and sounds of Broadway. This road runs from State Street at Bowling Green for 13 miles through Manhattan and the Bronx. It is the oldest northsouth main thoroughfare in the city, dating back to New Amsterdam in the 1600s. Starting in the north, we’re working our way down. This is part 2 of our multi-part walking adventure.
Meet at 9:30 in the lobby at Ethical. At 9:40 we’ll head to Columbus Circle and take the A train to Dyckman, head down Broadway to 168th, where we begin our excursion. We’ll pass through High Bridge Park, cross the famous Croton Aqueduct High Bridge, and proceed down East 167th for lunch, perhaps at Richie Rich (comfort food!).
This walk, originally scheduled for November, was cancelled due to rain. Rain cancels. Email Bob Bumcrot (firstname.lastname@example.org) or Howard Rose (howardrose125@ gmail.com) if possible, or just show up on time.
What’s Next? Weather permitting, we expect to do part 3 of the Broadway Walk in January
